These short films were produced for the annual Pens to Lens Student Screenwriting Competition, in which K-12 students from the Champaign area submit short screenplays for consideration by local filmmakers. Filmmakers select their favorites to produce as short films, which are premiered in a big premiere event with the kids as the stars. Something strange is going on with Tyler’s teddy bear. Written by 8th graders Curtis Bradley, Andrew Kowalski, and Garret Williams.
Zack and the Mountain Man
When Zack’s terrible parents die in a car accident, he’s taken in by a kindly Mountain Man. Written by 8th grader Preston Richardson.
Fluffystein
A little girl’s beloved toy bunny goes missing and is used for malicious purposes. Written by 6th graders Madelyn Childress, Taqia Heryadi, and Maya Kesan.
